Troubleshooting

The usual suspects, and how to fix each one. Every installer error also points to a full log in ~/.databull/logs.

"command not found: npx" or "node: command not found"

Node.js isn't installed. Get the LTS version from nodejs.org, open a new Terminal window, check node -v shows v22 or newer, and run the command again.

"Wrangler requires at least Node.js v22", or the installer says your Node.js is too old

Your Node.js is too old for Cloudflare's tools. Install the LTS version from nodejs.org (it replaces the old one), open a new Terminal window, check node -v, and run the installer again. Your license is fine: running it again on the same computer doesn't use up another install.

The Cloudflare sign-in doesn't open, or opens the wrong account

If no browser tab appears, the installer prints a link: open it yourself and click Allow. To sign in as someone else, run npx wrangler logout, then the installer again. Several accounts under one login? Pick the right one when asked, or pass --account <id>.

"This account has no workers.dev subdomain"

New Cloudflare accounts don't have one until you choose it. Let the installer create it, or pick a name in the Cloudflare dashboard under Workers & Pages. A brand-new subdomain can take a few minutes to start answering.

"That domain is already in use"

The subdomain you chose already has a DNS record or another Worker. Pick a different one (for example stats.yourapp.com), or remove the old record in Cloudflare DNS if you no longer need it. DataBull never deletes your records.

The health check timed out

Your Worker is deployed, but Cloudflare is still switching on the address or the certificate. That can take up to 10 minutes on a fresh account or domain. Wait a little, then open the URL the installer printed, or run npx databull@latest status. Running the installer again is safe: it reuses everything and skips straight to the end.

"This key is already active on 3 installs"

Run npx databull@latest license --deactivate on an install you no longer use, or email adgan.business@gmail.com.
