Import from Plausible
Switching from Plausible? Bring its history in, so your charts and comparisons go back to before DataBull.
1. Export from Plausible
In Plausible, open your site's Settings → Imports & Exports and click Export to CSV. Plausible emails you when the .zip is ready (on Plausible Community Edition you download it from the same page).
2. Import into DataBull
In DataBull, open the website's Settings → Import history and choose the .zip (or the CSV files inside it). Your browser reads it and shows what it found: the dates, visitors, pageviews, top sources and pages. Click Import; only daily totals are sent to your DataBull.
What comes over
- Daily visitors, visits, pageviews, bounce rate and visit duration.
- Sources (Plausible's names become DataBull's: Google is google.com, Twitter is x.com…), channels and UTM campaigns.
- Pages, entry and exit pages, countries, devices, browsers and operating systems.
- Goals and outbound link clicks.
Plausible's export has cities and regions as GeoNames ids, custom properties and no revenue, so those stay out. Your payment history comes from your payment provider anyway: see Revenue.
How imported days show
- Imported days stop the day DataBull starts tracking the site, so nothing is counted twice.
- They are daily totals: they show in unfiltered views and on daily, weekly and monthly charts. Filters apply to DataBull's own visits, and the dashboard says when imported history is left out.
- Unique visitors over several imported days are added up day by day, as Plausible does with imported data.
- Dates are read in the website's time zone in DataBull. Use the same one as in Plausible.
Big exports upload in steps. On Cloudflare's free plan an import pauses when the day's database writes are spent and continues where it stopped. You can delete imported history at any time; DataBull's own data stays.
