Connect Polar
- In Polar: Settings → Developers → New token, no expiration, with read scopes for organizations, products, orders, subscriptions, customers, refunds and checkouts, plus webhooks read and write. The exact scopes are in the docs.
- Paste the token, choose Production or Sandbox, and keep "Instant updates" on.
- Choose every payment, or specific products.
How each order finds its visit
- Checkout links (
buy.polar.sh): the script addsreference_id, and Polar copies it onto the order. Nothing to do. - Checkout API: pass the visitor and session ids as
metadata. - Success URL:
?checkout_id={CHECKOUT_ID}on your thank-you page links it as a backup.
What you see
- Every order, renewal and refund credited to the visit that produced it.
- Lifetime value by first source, so you know which channels bring subscribers who stay.
- Telegram pings for each sale with the source, plus traffic spike alerts.
