Scroll depth & reading time
How far people scroll and how long they really read each page, and how buyers read differently.
The Engagement card lists your pages with their average scroll depth and reading time. Pick a page to see its scroll map: the page cut into ten bands, each shaded by the share of visitors who scrolled that far, with the point where half the readers have left marked.
Buyers vs. everyone else
For each page DataBull compares buyers before they paid with visitors who didn't buy: "Buyers read 22% further and 2.2× longer on /pricing". It tells you which pages do the selling, and where people give up.
How it's measured
- Reading time counts only while the tab is visible, and stops a minute after the last scroll, click, key or touch, so a tab left open overnight doesn't count as reading. It's capped at 30 minutes per page.
- Scroll depth is the deepest point reached, as a share of the page's height. A page shorter than the screen counts as read to the end.
- Both are sent once, when the visitor leaves the page, on the goodbye ping the script already sends. There's no setup, no new cookie, and about one extra database write per page view.
It's measured from DataBull 1.5 on. Older periods show "Collecting" until new visits come in.
